The session cookies that Avis writes include data used by the webserver hardware regarding which server is processing your session, benchmarking your authentication status (against the Avis customer database) and the details of your reservation.
The persistent cookies that are created by the Avis website are used by our technology partners. They are used to recognize website traffic of returning users rather than new customers. The information that is stored is used to serve you appropriate adverts on other sites on our behalf. Deleting these cookies won't affect your experience or the functionality of the Avis website.
